Mastering EVS IPDirector Shortcuts: Speed Up Your Workflow
I remember my first weeks on EVS IPDirector. My mouse hand was constantly flying around clicking through menus, opening panels, trying to keep up. Then one of the senior EVS operators advised me: “Forget the mouse. Learn your shortcuts”. He was right. In this episode I will show you how to modify and use shortcuts in EVS IPDirector.

Mastering EVS IPDirector Quick Text Search: Find Clips in Seconds, Not Minutes
Imagine sitting in the news control room in front of a huge database filled with thousands of clips, playlists, and media files. You know that somewhere in there is the one clip you need, but you don’t have time to scroll through everything. At that moment, the stress kicks in because you just can’t find it. That’s exactly why EVS IPDirector has Quick Text Search. In this episode, I’ll show you how to use it efficiently and how to “speak its language.”
Shuttle Pad Pro v2 - The Essential Tool for Every EVS IPDirector Operator
Worldwide production - During rehearsals, a friend came to me and asked, “Can you help me with the EVS IPDirector?” “Sure,” I said, and took a seat at the workstation, but something felt off. Something was missing. I asked, “Where’s the Shuttle Pad Pro?” He looked at me and said, “That’s the problem.” And honestly? That made everything more difficult than it needed to be.
Mastering Playout with the EVS IPDirector Playlist Panel
Today in my EVS IPDirector series I'm going to show you how to significantly improve and simplify your playout management, using the Playlist Panel. It's an incredibly useful tool if you have multiple clips to playout.

How to Merge Playlists in EVS IPDirector in Seconds – The Fastest Method Revealed!
In this episode, I’ll show you how to easily merge playlists in EVS IPDirector. It’s far simpler than in the EVS LSM and EVS LSM VIA, where you need to switch between remote and VGA or use the LSM VIA Viewer. Every EVS operator, especially those in sports or news, needs to know how important merging playlists is.
EVS IPDirector: How to Monitor File Transfers and Solve Clip Export Issues Fast
The work of an EVS IPDirector operator extends beyond simply creating clips and playlists and managing On Air playout. EVS operators are also responsible for tasks like sending files to post-production and verifying the successful export of clips. In this episode I concentrate on the Transfer Monitoring function, a crucial tool within EVS IPDirector that allows you to track where files have been sent correctly from the EVS IPDirector server to another postproduction server.
It's time for the EVS IPDirector lesson: RET tool
In this EVS IPDirector episode, let’s focus on the Ret tool. This is one of the most useful functions in EVS IPDirector. This tool is especially valuable for EVS operators who need to quickly navigate to specific moments in recorded media without being restricted by clip boundaries. I will explain what the 'Ret' button is and when and where an EVS operator can use it.
It's time for the EVS IPDirector lesson: Delay a Signal Using Control Panel
In a TV news environment, the ability to playout a signal with a delay is crucial. In this episode, I’ll show you how to do it easily and smoothly in the Control Panel.

Mastering Clip Playout in EVS IP Director: Normal, Loop, and Bounce Modes
In this episode, I will show you how to play clips in three different ways: normal, loop, and bounce mode. It only takes a single or double click!
Mastering Database Explorer: A Key Tool in EVS IPDirector for Replay Operators
Working as an EVS replay operator, crucial skills include organizing work, quick reactions, and the ability to adapt and recover from stressful situations. During productions in the control room or in the OB Van work is very dynamic. EVS operators often need to quickly change the order of playing clips, find materials quickly, or organize clips or playlists.

In EVS IPDirector, one of the most useful tools is Database Explorer. Database Explorer has multiple functions to find, manage materials and clips. It's very easy because everything is visible on the screen within the EVS IPDirector application.
Firstly, an EVS operator can easily find clips using the search box. The search box is similar to using an internet browser like Google. You can find a clip by typing the full name or just part of the name. EVS IPDirector also will filter the clips based on that name. EVS operators can…

"🎬 #IPDirectorThursday: How to Use the Gang Tool in EVS IPDirector
Starting three different clips at exactly the same moment? No problem for EVS IPDirector. In this episode, I’ll walk you through how to use the Gang tool to output player channels simultaneously in EVS IPDirector.

Every production brings its own set of challenges and creative ideas. In one recent show, the main producer asked for three separate pictures to playout at the exact same time, perfectly synchronized. Of course, manually starting three clips simultaneously isn’t a realistic option. This is where the Gang tool in EVS IPDirector comes in handy, allowing for seamless synchronization.

Firstly, we have to understand what “GANG” means in the EVS IPDirector. The 'Gang' feature links multiple output player channels into a group and allows for their simultaneous control. When player channels are ganged, any playback, delay, or shuttle command applied to one player channel is executed simultaneously on all the others in the group. For example, if…
Hi, I have a lot of friends who are EVS replay operators, but only a few know how to work with EVS IPDirector. I'm not sure why this is the case. IPDirector isn't magic; it's actually quite simple and very user-friendly software, especially when working in news television. Below is my text about how IPDirector is used in News TV. Enjoy! 😉
