NAB 2026: A New Era of Replay Solutions

RIEDEL Communications SimplyLive, NetOn.Live, Sony Hawk-Eye Innovations , Evertz DreamCatcher, Ross Rio, LiveU Studio, EVS Broadcast Equipment. NewTek - now Vizrt, Vizrt 3Play. I was everywhere at NAB 2026. Big shoutout to the replay systems.
I love the fact that there are so many strong solutions on the market right now.
Ross Video Rio. What a cool name, huh? The controller feels really solid and top quality. I also love the idea of blocking the jog wheel when you use the T-bar.
Evertz DreamCatcher. Still the same design, still smooth, still working beautifully. Nice zoom in/out and keyframe options.
The biggest surprise? Sony Hawk-Eye. I went there ready to say no. I left saying YES.
The workflow is different from what many replay operators are used to, but it works. And it works really well.
NetOn.Live. Super fast switching between production modes. You can move between different production setups in seconds, assign multiviewers, and drag and drop whatever you want to the multiview live. Very flexible solution for clients running multiple productions on the same day.
LiveU Studio. Here we are not talking about a classic replay system or vision mixing. We are talking about live streaming with clipping possibilities. You can take up to four streams, save clips, create playlists, and play them out from your LiveU environment while broadcasting.
The biggest disappointment for me was Vizrt 3Play. The interface did not really change. I did not see a controller in Las Vegas, and the layout did not convince me. Vizrt may be one of the best graphics solutions in the world, but not necessarily replay.
And yes, when it comes to on-premises server solutions, EVS is still the leader in the market. I love them — fast, reliable, and built for the toughest productions.
At NAB, EVS recently introduced zoom and a new de-blur option for Xeebra VAR.
Super cool. And the cherry on the pie? SimplyLive Production Suite Flex.
For me, this is one of the most complete all-in-one solutions on the market right now. Replay, production switching, graphics, streaming, file export, and integration with ARRI — all inside one flexible system. Simple to enter. Serious in capability. That is what I love about this industry. Diversity. More analysis soon.
