The Power of Layouts in EVS IPDirector

In this episode, let’s focus on the layout and its crucial role in TV broadcasting.
Imagine arriving at work for a morning show, ready to take your position as the EVS
IPDirector operator. You log in and… surprise. Someone the previous day
completely rearranged the layout of the EVS IPDirector. Instead of preparing for the
show, you waste precious minutes restoring your preferred settings… and the
pressure mounts as the clock ticks down…
Fortunately, you can avoid this stressful scenario by personalizing and saving your
layout in advance. In such situations, you can restore your settings in a few seconds
and avoid unnecessary panic.
How to Create Your Layout in EVS IPDirector
In the EVS IPDirector app click on the "Layout" option in the main menu bar. Select the "New" button from the Layout menu to open the New Layout window.
Enter a name for your layout and optionally add a description. You can also select an icon to be associated with your layout.
Arrange your layout: Open the tools you need for your work, such as Channel Explorer, Control Panel, or Database Explorer, and arrange them in your preferred positions.
Save the Layout: Once you have arranged your layout, click the "Layout" option in the main menu bar again and select "Save Layout" to save your current workspace as a new layout.
Load layout by opening the main menu bar, clicking "Layout," and then clicking "Open." In the menu, select your layout from the list in the 'Load Layout' section. Double click on your layout or click once and select the “Load” button.
As you can see, layout is a crucial tool for working efficiently in EVS IPDirector. A well-prepared and saved layout reduces time spent searching for specific windows or functions, and allows you to focus on the task during broadcast.
