Many of you want to start a career as an EVS operator or EVS engineer and travel around the world. And yes — the job is demanding, but also incredibly rewarding.
But you need to understand one thing:
If you want to do international events and be successful, you have to travel a lot.
You will use a plane more often than a tram or a car.
You will meet different teams and different people almost every month.
You will be in different locations every month, and you will face different challenges every month.
If you like stability, consider a fixed role at a TV station or a local facility. But if you love movement, pressure, and adapting fast in new environments — this job might be for you.
This is a job for broadcast “paratroopers.” Why? Because we can land anywhere the next day, adapt fast, and do the job.
Here’s my recent schedule:
Warsaw → United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi) — National Day week
Last week: Athens, Greece
Two weeks ago: Vienna and Bratislava
Next on my radar: Saudi Arabia and Bratislava
So yes — it’s all about travel. I love it. But you have to check yourself if that’s for you: constant travel, new people, and stepping out of your comfort zone all the time.
Let’s go behind the scenes:
What does life as an EVS operator look like? (Part 1) — Frequent travel.
