“Training is not enough”

The biggest obstacle in our industry is not the lack of courses.

It’s the lack of hands-on practice after the course.

You can spend good money on a 3-day EVS training, collect the certificate, post a nice photo on LinkedIn… and still be unable to deliver a clean replay show three weeks later.

Why? Because high-pressure live broadcast is muscle memory, not theory.

If you don’t touch the buttons right after training, the knowledge fades.

In that case, even the best training becomes an expensive souvenir.

At the University of Television (#UTV) we decided to do it differently.

We don’t believe in “one-off” workshops.

Every training must come with a plan for what happens next:

  • how you will keep practicing EVS (or any replay system)

  • how often you should sit at a machine in the first 30, 60, 90 days

  • what kind of small tasks you can take on before a full match

  • how to move from assistant → junior operator → confident match operator

We’ve already started this journey: we selected a focused pool of students and, over the next few months, we’ll be training them inside the University of Television as part of a structured roadmap – with regular practice, feedback, and clear milestones, not just theory.

Our job is not just to teach buttons, but to design a path that actually leads to:

  • real productions,

  • real confidence,

  • and real promotions.

That’s the philosophy behind the University of Television:

training + practice + roadmap = BroadcastStrong career growth.

If you’re serious about building a long-term future in live sports and replay, don’t look only at what happens during the course.

Ask: “What is the plan for me after it?”
