🎥 The Truth About Job Opportunities and Shadowing After Training

One of the most common questions we receive at the University of Television is this:
“What happens after I finish the course? Will there be a job waiting for me? Can I shadow a professional crew on a live production?”
These are very important questions, and today, I want to share an open and honest answer.
In our industry, job opportunities, shadowing, and placements are never guaranteed. No training program in the world can promise you that the moment you complete your course, you’ll be placed directly into a job or allowed to shadow a professional production team.
The live broadcast industry is highly competitive and performance-driven. It’s about skill, dedication, and how you show up under pressure.
At the University of Television, we focus first on preparing you to excel. This means real-world workflows, hands-on experience with the same technology used at the biggest events — from EVS replay systems to full OB van setups — and a strong focus on both technical and mental readiness.
Where we are different is in creating pathways that don’t exist anywhere else.
We are proud to be among the very few organizations worldwide that even offer the possibility of shadowing professionals on live productions or being considered for placements.
This doesn’t mean it happens automatically.
It depends entirely on your performance, commitment, and how you apply what you’ve learned.
We don’t hand out opportunities — we open doors, but it’s up to you to walk through them.
The reality is simple: the students who work the hardest, show the most passion, and truly master their skills are the ones who get noticed.
If you’re looking for an easy promise of a job, this isn’t the place for you.
But if you want to earn your place in the industry, gain experience that truly prepares you for high-level broadcasting, and stand out among the best, we’ll give you every tool and every bit of knowledge to get there.
Your journey starts with preparation — and that’s where we come in.
