“Perks of being an EVS operator that we rarely talk about”

We always think about travel, career, money and growth.

But we often forget the little things – like this simple yellow VIP wristband.

On many events and shows we work on, our accreditation is basically a VIP pass: ID cards, wristbands, lanyards that open almost every door in the venue. And if you use that access wisely, you can see incredible behind-the-scenes moments and meet people you would never meet in “normal life”.

Of course, you have to understand what you can and what you should not do with that access. Professionalism first.

But it’s still amazing what we’re given as EVS operators – and how rarely we actually stop to appreciate it.
