"EVS Tips & Tricks – How to Fix the “Multicam Conflicts” Error in IPDirector"

If you see a popup saying:
“There is a conflict between the selected version of Multicam and one of the Multicam version of your servers (Multicam 20.6.35). Please check your server version then go to Configure -> General -> Multicam version to set the right version. Remark: all services must be stopped to change this setting.”
it simply means that the Multicam version selected in IPDirector does not match the Multicam version actually running on your XT server(s).
Here’s how to fix it step by step:
Stop all IPDirector services (this is mandatory – you can’t change the Multicam version while services are running).
Open IPD Remote Installer / IPDirector Configurator.
Go to Configure → General → Multicam version.
In the dropdown list, select the version that matches your XT server Multicam.
Example: if your server is Multicam 20.6.35, choose “Mul 16.6 & 20.6”.
Click Apply and then Save.
Start the services again and relaunch IPDirector.
Pro tip: in mixed environments, always choose the dropdown option that covers the highest Multicam branch you are actually running on the servers. If the versions don’t match, IPDirector will keep throwing errors or behave unpredictably.
