🎥 EVS Tips and Tricks – Episode 3: What is a PC LAN Address in EVS?
In EVS systems, the PC LAN address is a unique identifier assigned to each computer connected to the EVS network.
Think of it like a car key — without it, the system won’t start. In this case, without the correct LAN address, a computer cannot access or communicate with the EVS server. It’s also like a name and ID for the computer, used to clearly identify it in the network.
This identity allows the EVS server to authorize, recognize, and assign roles to workstations like LSM-VIA X-Client, LSM VIA Remote, IPDirector, or XFile.
Each device in the EVS ecosystem must have a properly configured PC LAN address. Without it, the computer won’t be accepted as a trusted part of the production system.
It’s a small detail that ensures the entire workflow stays secure, functional, and efficient — critical in live broadcast environments.
