Mastering the Control Panel in EVS IPDirector: Your Guide to Easy Broadcasting

The Control Panel is a fundamental and essential tool in the EVS IPDirector. It offers multiple useful functions during broadcasts. In this series of articles, I will explore both the basic and advanced functions of the control panel and demonstrate how to use it effectively in various broadcast scenarios. Let's get started!
In this article, we will show you how to load and play a clip using the Control Panel. After logging into theIP Director application, the first step is to open the Control Panel tool. Then, open the Database Explorer tool and navigate to the "Clips" section.
Three Quick Methods to Load a Clip into the Control Panel:
Drag and Drop: In the Database Explorer, go to the "Clips" section, select your clip, and drag it onto the Control Panel.
Double-Click: Simply double-click on the desired clip in the Database Explorer to load it.
Keyboard Navigation: Use the up and down arrow keys to select a clip in the Database Explorer. Once the desired clip is highlighted, press ENTER to load it.
Once the clip is loaded, it’s ready for broadcast.
Playing a Clip:
To play the clip, either click the "Play" button on the Control Panel or press P on your keyboard. That’s it - quick and easy!
Just mind the auto-play feature in IPDirector. This is particularly valuable in fast-paced production environments where real-time decision-making is crucial. If you have it selected the clip will be played automatically when loaded on the Control Panel.
